Rounding
the curve on the scenic Mount Vincent descent from Stoney
Creek, an eastbound 50-car potash train makes its way down from
Stoney Creek, passing above Mars Valley on a cold winter day
in late December.
Nearly
a month earlier at the same location, this version of the RHJ
Rail Christmas Holiday Train makes a nighttime descent from
Stoney Creek. Note that there is much less snow at this earlier
time of the year.
The
annual Christmas Holiday Train is stopped for a performance at Bow
City East. The stage car has flashing external lighting, a folding
side door, a group of performers and, of course, Santa Claus. Interior
lighting has both flood lights and variable coloured spot lights. Appropriate
seasonal music is played automatically.
The
circus train extra is running late (again) because it has to yeild to
regular traffic on the RHJ Rail home layout.

Recently,
at Arrow Park Historical Village, the park acquired a large Ferris
Wheel. This replaced the previous small childrens' ride and has attracted
many more customers to the park. The park is at the southern end of
the 42-foot long layout, quite some distance from the winter village
of Mars Valley, above).
